Sanya news
Sanya moved to Royal Cape Yacht Club yesterday at 4.30pm to start her repairs to forward bulkhead. So she and Punta are now reunited. They are going for a day sail on her tomorrow, minus bowsprit, so no spinnaker practice.
Sanya and Punta race update.
See Punta del Este and Sanya update box.
Sanya disqualified from Cape Town to Freemantle race, but will race Punta del Este for a special prize. They are forecast to leave Cape Town in about a weeks time (28/29th November) and should arrive Freemantle before Christmas (21st to 22nd December), hopefully to join fleet to Whitsunday Islands.
UNICEF heads for Durban. Crew member with appendicitis.
Rachel report
Baby Sanya on her own.
Rachel not at all happy. Very frustrated and worried about various issues. I have send a long list of questions to Clipper head quarters. A parcel has arrived by courier with some extra kit, including waterproof thermal gloves and base layers. Her bruised ribs are restricting her touristy pursuits.
Visit to Botanical Garden, but ended in gorge walk.

Rachel climbs Table mountain the hard way.
This is where she started the 3400 ft climb.
With Su.
Rachel is in good spirits and has given supporting comments to Seumas and Jorge. In turn they have both been kind to her. She has said that the Sanya crew are unanimous in only wanting Seumas and Jorge to take them across the Southern Ocean. This is a very positive attitude and is great credit to Rachel and the crew. There is a strong feeling of team spirit, which is good to see.

Clipper meeting in Capetown.
The meeting this am was really positive. They just want to fix both boats with both boats fully intact, skipper’s, AQP’s and all. The next leg to Freemantle will be a race and not a delivery or cruise. They now estimate 8 days to fix everything and get going again. They will have a very short turnaround in Freemantle if they get there in the predicted time. Then it’s on to Airlie beach with the rest of the fleet. They are on very good terms with Punta and will be socialising with them this week and no one is blaming anyone and they think they should be gracious for that. They boarded Punta to acknowledge their mistake and to check everyone was ok as soon as they could yesterday. They were grateful for that.
